On Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt’s advice, I have used a propolis throat spray (from Beekeepers Naturals) since the beginning of the pandemic. Three sprays to the back of my throat before bedtime, and after any time I have been exposed to people outside my home. Propolis spray is a surfactant that will break up the encapsulated virus particles, rendering them unable to replicate.
Use it regularly while in transit and in crowds. It tastes pretty good, so it’s easy. The spray bottles are small and go in your TSA approved liquids clear bag.
Generally, COVID-19 reproduces in our upper and lower respiratory tracts. Propolis prevents the attachment of the virus to any cell or membrane. Use the propolis spray first thing in the morning, before sleeping, and any time during the day that you feel you may have come in contact with the virus. Spray back of throat and roof of mouth. Definitely spray propolis into your throat before you go to sleep each night!
This paper, Back to the basics: Propolis and COVID-19, reviews the effects of propolis, an old remedy with proven antiviral properties, as a possible low-cost inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 in the oropharyngeal niche, prophylaxis, or adjuvant therapy. It concludes that “Viruses causing respiratory diseases invade their host via the nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal or tracheal mucosa. At present, there are no specific antiviral drugs or vaccines against SARS-CoV2 infection for potential therapy of humans. Identifying methods able to reduce or prevent colonization, viral adhesion and promote virus shedding on mucous membranes or have the ability to inactivate pathogens and thus reduce virus dose and/or increase immune response would be essential in the management of COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore, we suggest that propolis (or its constituents) may represent a low-cost treatment option that may act as potential inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 in the oropharyngeal niche.”
Propolis is a natural PAK-1 blocker, as is melatonin.
